The Danish defender played ten years at the English club
The Chelsea confirmed that Danish defender Andreas Christensen will leave the club when his contract ends at the end of June.
It is expected that the Danish will join Barcelona, after 10 years at Stamford Bridge.
Christensen, 26, scored two goals in 161 games with the 'Blues', having won numerous trophies, including the Champions League and the Europa League.
"Chelsea Football Club thanks Andreas for his contribution to our success in the last decade and wishes him the best in his future career", the team expressed in a statement on its website.
Midfielder Danny Drinkwater will also leave the club, while the departure of Antonio Rüdiger as a free agent to Real Madrid has already been announced.
Drinkwater, 32, arrived in London from Leicester in 2017 but has only played 23 games during an unsuccessful spell at the London institution, where the player was loaned out on multiple occasions. AFP
