Review the best of the match between Real Madrid vs. Liverpool for the final of the UEFA Champions League 2021-2022.

Real Madrid showed once again that it is the king of Europe. The Spanish team won their fourteenth Champions League title on Saturday in Paris by defeating Liverpool 1-0, with a goal from Brazilian Vinicius in the 59th minute.

If Vinicius was decisive in the goal, so was Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, with a performance for the history books, stopping everything that came his way and frustrating Mohamed Salah, who had several chances.

The celebration of Real Madrid and European football was partly tarnished by a delay of more than half an hour in the start of the match due to security problems at the entrance of the stadium, with fans wanting to access when the start of the game was approaching, which led to the intervention of the security forces with tear gas.

The only goal of the match had a 100% South American component, as Brazilian Casemiro initiated a play by passing to Uruguayan Fede Valverde on the right, who crossed the ball into the area, where Vinicius appeared at the far post to push the ball into the net.

With this, Real Madrid won their eighth consecutive final, while Liverpool couldn't take revenge for their defeat in the decisive match in 2018 in Kiev (3-1).

Liverpool had enjoyed more opportunities until that moment, except for a goal disallowed to Real Madrid at the end of the first half due to a controversial offside by Karim Benzema after several minutes of VAR analysis.

The English team, looking for their seventh Champions League, continued to push for the equalizer after Vinicius' goal, but Salah didn't have his day, while Courtois was more inspired than ever, thwarting all of Liverpool's attempts.
