Barcelona and Lyon qualified for the Champions League Women's final this Saturday, April 30, after eliminating Wolfsburg and PSG in the semifinals, respectively. The last match of the European championship will be played on Saturday, May 21 at the Juventus Stadium in Turin, Italy.

In the early hours, the Barça team faced the she-wolves at the Volkswagen-Arena in Wolfsburg and against all odds lost 2-0. Tabea Wassmuth and Jill Roord scored the goals for the German team in the second half, but it was not enough because they lost 5-1 in the first leg played at the Camp Nou.
Finally, Barça came out victorious in the series against Wolfsburg with an overall score of 5-3 and qualified for a Champions League final for the third time in its history. The culés could achieve the back-to-back championship, as they have the core of the team that lifted the title in the previous season, led by Alexia Putellas.

However, they will face the most successful club in the tournament, Olympique Lyon, which has seven trophies in its showcase. Although it is not the same squad that won five consecutive titles, they still have some of their stars such as Ada Hegerberg, Amandine Henry, and Wendie Renard. German player Dzsenifer Marozsán is also part of the team, but she is injured.

The lionesses obtained their revenge against PSG and won 2-1 in the second leg played at the Parc des Princes; the first leg ended 3-2 in favor of Lyon. The Parisians caused a surprise last season by eliminating them in the quarter-finals. Norwegian forward Hegerberg is regaining her form after being away from the fields for several months due to an injury and aims to be the star of the final.
Lyon and Barcelona already know each other since in 2019 they faced each other in the final in Budapest, Hungary. The French team won 4-1 in a match that ended in a 1-1 draw in the ninety minutes. Hegerberg appeared in extra time with a hat-trick. The Catalan team will have the chance to avenge that painful defeat.
