The Government of Nariño congratulates the excellent sports performance of Luisa Galvis, Nicolás Galvis and Sebastián Gustín, and highlights their participation in the 2023 Muay Thai IFMA South American Championship, held in Guayaquil, Ecuador.
Muay Thai is a sport originated in Thailand, which is performed standing, allowing punches, elbows, knees, and kicks, as well as throws or holds. The athletes from Nariño obtained three medals, two silver ones for our athletes Luisa Galvis and Sebastián Gustín, and one bronze for Nicolás Galvis. These are the results obtained by the athletes from the Nariño selection who represented Colombia during the championship, held at the Voltaire Paladines Polo Coliseum, located in the city of Guayaquil. The Ecuadorian delegation achieved first place, second Peru, and third place Brazil.
The Secretary of Recreation and Sports, Alexander Realpe Mora, expressed his pride in the athletes who represented our country, also raising the flag of our department high.
Likewise, he extended his congratulations to the President and coach of the Nariño Muay Thai League, Cesar León, and to all the athletes for their effort and dedication, adding that he will continue to support and promote sports in Nariño.
