The referee's report by Alex Cajas, who officiated the match between Cumbayá and Barcelona SC, has not yet been made public but Damián Díaz could receive a four-game suspension after being sent off.
The incident occurred in the 45th minute after a foul by Juan Carlos Paredes. The entire bench of substitutes came out to protest, but apparently there were insults from 'Kitu' Díaz towards the referee.
After receiving a straight red card, the player took his time to leave. The referee did not resume the match until the player walked towards the dressing room, and even then, there was a delay.
According to the current regulations, Damián Díaz could receive a 4-match suspension for receiving the straight red card (two games), insults (one game), and delaying the exit from the field of play (one game).
Díaz would miss the match against Liga de Quito, which will be played on September 18 at the Monumental stadium, a crucial match as they are direct rivals in their goal to win this Second Stage.
He would also be absent from the visit to Deportivo Cuenca, the game against Técnico Universitario, and the match against Aucas in Quito.
The sanctions report from LigaPro will be known next Thursday.
