Today, one of the most anticipated events for singers and influencers throughout Latin America took place. It is the Heat Awards 2023 that will take place in Cap Cana, Dominican Republic, so our country was not exempt from this renowned event.

Given that there are increasingly more artists from Peru who cross borders, there are many nationals who will step on stage alongside recognized figures in the industry such as Mike Bahía, Anuel AA, and Mau y Ricky. Who will be the Peruvian representatives?
Among the guests is the salsa singer Yahaira Plasencia, who will present one of the awards and pay tribute to Grupo Niche. In addition, Álvaro Rod and Cielo Torres will be present, who will sing in a showcase for international journalists in order to show the talent of Peruvian salsa.
Other representatives of the genre who will attend are Jean Pierre Núñez, better known as 'JP El Chamaco', and Kate Candela, former member of Son Tentación. Likewise, Austin Palao, nominated for one of the awards, will be present.
Austin Palao wins "Trending Artist" category
The former reality TV star became the second Peruvian, after Leslie Shaw in 2020, to win one of the categories of the Heat Awards 2023. As stated in the event's publication, it was the audience who voted for Austin Palao to win the award for his songs "Ella" and "Mejor sin ti".
