Gastronomy: Pride of Peruvians

Our gastronomy is one of the greatest representatives worldwide, which is why Peruvians have no doubt in defending the national flavor, as a new viral TikTok video shows, in which a group of Ecuadorians criticize our flagship dishes, but they never expected the responses they would receive.

In the video shared by the 'Orgullo Perú oficial' account on TikTok, you can see the young man asking the Ecuadorians about Peruvian food, which is highly appreciated by thousands of tourists who come to Peru to learn about national customs and archaeological sites.

"We surpass your country (Peru) by far in culture, Ecuador will always be your dad. Ecuadorians love our gastronomy and we will never know Peru as better than our own," stated one of the interviewees.

When asked which Latin American country has the worst food, most of them responded that they do not like ceviche, which provoked responses from Peruvians on TikTok.

"Ecuadorian ceviche looks like soup", "We don't care what they think, as long as other countries choose us it's more than enough", "Everyone has their own criteria", "Peru is considered the best food in the world", "At least in Peru, ceviche does not have tomatoes added", are some of the comments.
