Attendance concerns at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar
It's only the second day of competition at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, but the interest seems to not be contagious to the local audience. First in the opening match between the host team and Ecuador, where the stadium had significant empty seats after the withdrawal of the fans, and now with a measure to allow entry to the public without a ticket.
On Monday, the newspaper Marca reported that for the Senegal vs. Netherlands match, people were allowed to enter without tickets during the game. The Spanish media shared an example of this with a first-person recording on their social media.
