Santiago Escobar, Head Coach of Universidad Católica, highlighted the good moment that Antonio Valencia is going through in Gallos Blancos de Querétaro and suggested that he could be considered for the Ecuadorian national team.
'Sachi' returned to the country to continue his recovery process after being diagnosed with prostate cancer on January 12th.

'Antonio Valencia is an exceptional football player', highlights DT of Querétaro
"As long as he (Valencia) is physically fit and exerts that leadership both on and off the field, he will always be a useful player for any team and the national team," said the Colombian coach in a conversation with Área Deportiva.
"He has already shown it in the league in that semester playing as a double '5'. I think that from his leadership, he helped to enhance other players," he added.
Escobar believes that Valencia 'is a selectable player', however, 'that will be defined by Professor Gustavo Alfaro'. (D)
