Barcelona SC: Cristian Colmán will not continue in the team
Despite reaching an agreement in principle to renew his contract and be part of Barcelona SC's 2021 squad, Cristian Colmán will finally not continue in the team. Carlos Alfaro Moreno, the club's president, stated on Monday night that negotiations with the forward broke down in the last hours.
"It was a priority for us to keep Cristian Colmán, but negotiations broke down in the last hours," said Alfaro Moreno on DirecTV.
However, the president assured that they are already working on signing another player with experience in the local league to replace the striker.
Colmán was introduced as a reinforcement for the 2020 campaign. His first months in the team were not as expected; few minutes on the pitch and little contribution in offense and in the game. However, he ended the season better than he started and became a good option off the bench for coach Fabián Bustos.
According to LigaPro records, in 26 games, of which he came on as a substitute in 16 of them, the Paraguayan player scored five goals and provided two assists. In the Copa Libertadores, he scored a goal against Junior in the 2-1 defeat at the Monumental Banco Pichincha stadium. (D)
