El Manta FC continues to strengthen for the 2021 season, after securing their return to the top category of Ecuadorian soccer after nine years. The signing of goalkeeper Hamilton Piedra was joined on Saturday by Uruguayan midfielder Martín Alaniz, who was one of the main responsible for saving Orense from relegation in the 2020 season.

Alaniz was announced at the beginning of 2020 as a new player for Delfín, however, he moved to Machala in the second half of the year. He arrived in the country for the first time in 2017 to wear the Guayaquil City jersey.
According to LigaPro records, Alaniz defended the Orense jersey on 24 occasions, coming as a substitute in two of them. He scored four goals and provided five assists. (D)
