Linked in the last hours, Uruguayan Rodrigo Aguirre to Barcelona

The board of Liga de Quito, the club with which the forward has a contract this year, has spoken out about his possible departure and the intentions of international football to sign the striker.

Aguirre's contract with the whites extends until December. Last season was not the best for the attacker, who, affected by injuries and in the shadow of Colombian Cristian Martínez, played in 20 games.

About Aguirre's (26 years old) possibility of leaving the club, director Esteban Paz commented on radio La Red "that the team that wants him can negotiate with Liga, as long as a satisfactory agreement can be reached with the player, but I think it is very difficult for any Ecuadorian team to acquire Rodrigo's services, that is why we have managed a couple of important options abroad. He is a great player, but he has a very high remuneration value, that is why we have tried to oversee the club's budget and consider an international exit", said the director.

Paz commented on the rumors linking the Uruguayan to Barcelona for 2021, an option that he denied as there have been no approaches with the Torera board.

"We have not received any local offers, no intention from local clubs, but yes from abroad, that is why we are considering that option", said the white captain, who advanced the possibility of reducing the club's budget for this season. (D)
