"Prime Transparency" in the Final Match for the Serie A Title

In order to "prime transparency" in the final match for the Serie A title between Liga de Quito and Barcelona, the Albawhite leadership requests the LigaPro, through its president, Miguel Ángel Loor, to carry out anti-doping tests.

According to the document, signed by Esteban Paz as special representative, "Facing the definition of the LigaPro Serie A 2020 tournament and with the sole purpose of ensuring transparency and fair play, for the good of all its actors and in general of Ecuadorian soccer, as the Special Football Commission of Liga Deportiva Universitaria, we want to expose some aspects that we consider should not be overlooked, especially taking into account the relevance of this definition."

The Albawhite team states: "During the first final of the tournament held on December 23, the anti-doping control procedure was surprisingly not applied. Therefore, we request that, in accordance with Article 89 of the LigaPro Competition Regulations, the Ecuadorian Soccer Federation be requested to carry out this procedure in the second final of the tournament."

Regarding incidents that occurred at minute 50 of the match played in Guayaquil, the letter mentions: "We consider it important to point out that we are surprised that, despite the exhaustive revision of the VAR and the assistance to the central referee, the non-ball aggression and the aggression from behind that our player Junior Sornoza suffered by the rival player Damián Díaz, were surprisingly not penalized. Although our player was correctly sanctioned for reacting in an anti-regulatory manner to that aggression, we will highly value the immediate delivery to our club of the VAR communication audios from minute 45 to 55."

In the fourth paragraph, it mentions the non-observance of the Disciplinary Commission of the LigaPro, which despite the fact that the video of this action (by Díaz) went viral on social networks and digital media, did not take action to sanction this action, "as it did take action and correctly when, through a video disseminated on social networks, in a match against the same rival, Liga (Q)'s player Pedro Pablo Perlaza was penalized for insults, despite not being mentioned in the match report."

In the last part, Liga de Quito appeals to fair play and respecting soccer and its regulations, "avoiding engaging in anti-regulatory actions such as the installation of video to monitor the VAR or other unfounded intimidation acts.

It also rejects alleged "media pressure" that has been sought to impose on the arbitral guild for several weeks and highlights that it is time for the referees to show that they are up to a LigaPro final.

Liga de Quito urges fans to maintain exemplary behavior, as they have done so far by avoiding crowds, flag-waving, and uncontrolled celebrations that put the safety and health of everyone at risk. (D)
