Ten coaches have two national championships won and on the night of next Tuesday the list will increase to eleven. It remains to be seen whether the new member of that club is Fabián Bustos or Pablo Repetto. The Argentine who leads Barcelona has an award with Delfín, in 2019. The Uruguayan who commands Liga de Quito has already been champion with the albos, in 2018.

Of the ten coaches with two titles in their resumes, only one is Ecuadorian: Carlos Sevilla. It took the Imbabureño 17 years, since his debut as a strategist in Deportivo Quito, in 1984, to achieve an Olympic lap. He did it for the first time in 2001 with Emelec. Then Sevilla ended the drought that seemed eternal for the chullas when in 2008 he was the coach who led Quito to a coronation that they had not achieved since 1968.

The Argentine Mariano Larraz was the first to win two consecutive championships. He did it with Emelec in 1961 and with Everest in 1962 (the only national conquest of the red squad from Guayaquil). The Colombian Leonel Montoya also has two tournaments won, both with Liga (Q) in the 1974-1975 bicampeonato.

The list also includes Salvador Capitano, with Emelec (1993) and Barcelona (1995); Paulo Massa, with El Nacional (1996) and Liga (1998). Ever Hugo Almeida, twice with the military (Clausura 2005 and 2006); Julio Turco Assad, who gave Olmedo (2000) and Deportivo Cuenca the greatest joys in the history of those clubs; Rubén Insúa, with Barcelona (1997) and Deportivo Quito (2009). Edgardo Bauza, with Liga (2007 and 2010). And Gustavo Quinteros, in the 2013 and 2014 bicampeonato with Emelec.
