On Saturday, November 7, the seventeenth and penultimate stage of the Tour of Spain will take place with a route of 178.2 km between Sequeros and Alto de La Covatilla.
Magnus Cort Nielsen (EF) was the winner of Friday's stage. Primoz Roglic (Jumbo-Visma) finished in second place, earning a 6-second bonus. Ecuadorian Richard Carapaz (Ineos Grenadiers) finished in fifth place.
Roglic extended his lead in the general classification to 45 seconds ahead of Carapaz. The Slovenian from Jumbo has a time of 64 hours 20 minutes and 31 seconds.
The podium is completed by British Carthy (EF Pro Cycling) at 53 s.
Saturday's stage will be the last opportunity for riders to snatch the top spot from the red jersey. The stage will start with a first-category mountain, followed by three third-category mountains and one second-category mountain.
