The start of the Ecuador Cup 2020 postponed
The start of the Ecuador Cup 2020, scheduled for April, has been postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic, warned William Poveda, director of Competitions of the Ecuadorian Football Federation (FEF).
Poveda, in an interview with El Canal del Fútbol, stated: "We had planned to hold the launch event in which the draw for the corresponding matches was going to be made on April 5th (next). However, due to what we are going through and the suspension of all tournaments at the regional and national levels, we are currently designing a new schedule."
"The executive committee has instructed the competition area of the Federation to work on different scenarios, which consider different start dates for all Federation tournaments, including the Ecuador Cup. We could tentatively start in May, maybe June, it will all depend," said the FEF official.
