Quito -

If any Liga de Quito fan was hoping for the return of Fernando "Chiqui" Guerrero (30 years old) and especially Hernán "Pirata" Barcos (35), Liga de Quito executive Esteban Paz made it clear that there is no possibility for that to happen.

"They are players who gave what they had to give and we thank them for the time they lent their contingent, but we have to look towards other players, seek other alternatives," he said in an interview with the Quito station Área Deportiva.

Chiqui was champion with the azucena team in 2018, and although they wanted to renew his contract, he preferred to go to Emelec. In a conversation with the press, he said that at Liga "they do not fulfill what they promise" and claimed that there were debts.

Pirata, after displaying his quality with the azucena team, left amidst disputes with Paz, in mid-2018, to join Cruzeiro in Brazil. According to Barcos, he was owed money.

The executive, in due time, pointed out that everything would be paid to both players.

Bieler could arrive

Meanwhile, Argentine-Ecuadorian Claudio Bieler, 35, could be signed by Liga de Quito, if coach Pablo Repetto accepts him and according to the projects the institution has.

"He is a player that interests us to finish his career at Liga," said the executive about Taca Bieler, a figure for the universitarios in the conquest of the Copa Libertadores and the Sudamericana titles in 2008 and 2009. (D)
