The first Copa champion is Everest.

In 1969, just like in 2019 with the realization of the Copa Ecuador, a different tournament from the national one was disputed: the Championship of Champions or Ecuadorian Super Cup, which had only one edition. In the tournament, all the previous monarchs of the country competed: Emelec (1957, 1961 and 1965), Deportivo Quito (1964 and 1968), Everest (1962), and El Nacional (1967). Barcelona, the winner of 1960, 1963, and 1966, abstained from participating.
