Liga de Quito was crowned as the first champion of the Copa Ecuador after achieving a 3-3 aggregate result in Jocay de Manta. In the 90 minutes played on Saturday, the match ended 3-1 in favor of the team from Manabi, but the away goal scored by the albos gave them the title.

Lopez opened the scoring for the home team in the second minute with a shot that deflected off Antonio Valencia and caught Gabbarini off guard. But before the end of the first half, Aguirre blocked a cross from Chicaiza and the ball went between Ortiz's legs to equalize (43m).
Garcés added drama to the match by scoring his team's second goal after a cross-shot from Pedro Pablo Perlaza (74m) and then scoring from the penalty spot in the 90th minute.
