Santa Fe struggled to defeat Millonarios at Campín de Bogotá for the 10th round of the 2019 Águila League.

Santa Fe defeated Millonarios 1-0 on the 10th matchday of Liga Águila 2019, in a game that took place at El Campín stadium in Bogotá. The home team nullified the visitors with high pressure, conviction, and tactical organization. The double pivot with Giraldo and Pérez was attentive to cut off Pinto's team's midfield generation.

Millonarios had no one to generate football in the middle of the field, and the absence of Silva was even more noticeable due to Juan Camilo Salazar's inefficiency in holding on to the ball to search for Pérez, Zapata, and Arango.

In the 23rd minute, Santa Fe scored the only goal of the match. The pressure paid off and Andrés Pérez took advantage of the space marked by Balanta to send a long pass behind Banguero so that the Santa Fe winger could make a diagonal run in the box, elude the goalkeeper, and shoot into an empty net. The home team received the reward for their determination and willingness to harm the opponent.

Millonarios is one of the protagonists in the Colombian league, led by Alianza Petrolera with 18 points. The blue team, on the other hand, is in fourth place with 17 points and will climb to the top if they win.

Led by Jorge Luis Pinto, Millonarios will seek to bounce back after losing 2-1 to Unión Magdalena in their last game. The match was decided in the second half when the home team turned the result around.

"A contested match with aggression from both sides. We lost the game in 10 minutes. A good first half, but we lost control at the beginning of the second half and Unión punished us," said coach Pinto.

Santa Fe comes from defeating Independiente de Medellín in the previous match and obtained their first victory in the championship. However, they still remain in last place in the table with only 5 points.

The only absence for 'Cardenales' is the right-back Federico Arbeláez, who is recovering from a hamstring injury. In Millonarios, midfielder César Carrillo will not be available as he was sent off in the match against Unión Magdalena.
