One month ago. Soccer player Christian Cueva apologized after being caught urinating in the parking lot of Jorge Chávez International Airport while he was intoxicated.
In an interview with ATV Noticias, 'Aladino' assured that it was an accidental event and that he never intended it. Although he clarified that he drank alcohol at a time when he was not focused, he admitted that it was a mistake because many children and young people see the national players as an example.
"I truly apologize for the situation I went through (...) especially to the children. I know that we are role models for them, we are what they, at some point, wanted to be when they grow up. I think it's a matter of respect towards them more than anything. I have children and I don't want this to happen again," declared Christian Cueva.

However, the national team member clarified that what bothered him about the dissemination of the images was the 'bad intentions' of some commentators and that at some point he will meet those people to clarify things face to face. Could he be referring to Magaly Medina?
"What I don't like is the bad intentions of some commentators, of some journalists, without generalizing, but that is something I have never liked. I have always taken it from whoever it comes from, but at some point I will meet them and I will also tell them things with all due respect face to face," explained Cueva.
This September 5, the Peruvian national team will face Ecuador at the Red Bull Arena in New Jersey for the first friendly match in preparation for the Qatar 2022 Qualifiers.
