Towards the end of the match between Colombia vs. Uruguay, Darwin Núñez didn't miss the opportunity and scored the 2-2 in favor of the 'Celeste' at the Metropolitano Stadium.

When everything seemed to indicate that the match between Colombia vs. Uruguay, for matchday 3 of the South American Qualifiers 2026, would end with a victory (2-1) in favor of the Colombians, a defensive lapse costed them dearly. Goalkeeper Camilo Vargas committed a penalty at the end, which was not wasted by the 'Celeste' team, who scored through Darwin Nuñez.

In the 88th minute of the game, the visiting team quickly played a ball from their own half into the opponent's territory. Araujo was there, who ran towards the Colombian goalkeeper's goal. However, with a good feint, he managed to get ahead of the coffeekeeper, who was forced to stop the defender with a harsh foul.

Immediately, the referee of the match called a penalty in favor of the visitors and showed Camilo Vargas the second yellow card. However, the referee went to VAR to review the play, confirming the foul minutes later. Without hesitation, Darwin Núñez took the ball and prepared to shoot from the twelve yards. As expected, the Liverpool forward did not disappoint and scored 2-2 at the Barranquilla stadium.
