A collision left Alejandro Restrepo, coach of Deportivo Pereira, on the floor during the second leg match against Independiente del Valle in the Copa Libertadores round of 16.

Around the 40th minute of the game, Junior Sornoza lost his balance after colliding with an opponent and ended up pushing the coach forcefully, who suffered a spectacular fall and complained to the player from the Ecuadorian team.

The incident sparked the reaction of substitutes and starters from Deportivo Pereira, who were losing 1-0 at that time and later found the tie, securing their qualification.

In the Ecuadorian capital, the humble Pereira, an absolute newcomer in Conmebol's main club tournament, held strong to draw 1-1 with Independiente del Valle, which they had defeated in Colombia 1-0.

Michael Hoyos thrilled the home fans with a goal in the 6th minute, but missed a penalty in the 88th minute. Larry Angulo equalized in the 50th minute for Pereira.
