América de Cali started the semester with an irregular performance. They have five points in their first three games and they also lost to Nacional in the first leg of the Copa Colombia. Despite this weak start, Carlos Darwin Quintero anticipated on ESPN F360 that this team has things to be excited about and he assured that America's level will "delight" the fans.
"Adapting to new things is complicated. We cannot draw conclusions from these matches, it's too soon. The coach's message is clear, and it's normal that there are many things he wants that we cannot do because it's all recent. We cannot blame the coach for four matches," commented 'El Científico'.
In addition, he detected the changes that they have been implementing with González: "We were coming from a different style of play. On the other hand, he talked about his physical condition in this semester: "There are things that people may not realize, but against Nacional I was coming back from an injury, that's why I didn't play against Chicó. I got injured again in the first week of preseason and one always wants to be on the field. He asked me if I was ready to play, I said yes, and the idea was to play 60 minutes. I ended up playing the whole match due to the game's circumstances and it was hard for me to finish and recover. I felt the best in this match. We will progress from a physical standpoint."
