Women were part of another successful day and they were the protagonists of SpeedFest 2023.

The roar of the engines was back at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez… second chapter of SpeedFest 2023, maximum excitement, with more than 30 thousand people, who enjoyed adrenaline and high speed.

And as it already happens in various areas, women made their presence known playing different roles within the motor event.

Sol Díaz is only 10 years old, at the age of 4 she ventured into this world that she defines as fascinating, first with an electric vehicle, now she is in the InterMs Formula.

"I feel very proud because I am the first woman in my category who has sponsors; I see that more girls and women are getting involved in this sport and that excites me a lot," says the fifth-grade student.

Dana Ruz is also a pilot, she participates in the Nascar Challenge with Tiger Racing and is also the Team Manager of the team and a mother of a little girl. From the perspective of this woman from Puebla, there is a lack of unity among women. "I think that many times women are the first ones to trip ourselves up, maybe envy beats us, we compete against each other and I think that shouldn't happen. Men catch on better and become more supportive," she shared.

As the manager of Tiger Racing, Dana has recruited Ana Paola Rodríguez, a mechanical technician. She studied autotronics at Conalep and is currently studying Automotive Engineering at Grupo Cedva. Since she was little, her uncle got her involved in mechanics and she discovered that it was her passion. "My role within the team is to check levels, review tire tightening and adjustment, pressures. I have to leave the car in perfect condition for Dana to have a good race," she declared with an illuminated look when talking about her vocation.

Sofía Villaseñor has been a pilot since childhood, legally named Diego, she realized since she was little that she was different from other boys and in her youth, she decided to change gender. "Inside the car, doing the sport, there is no difference between being a woman or a man. I don't feel that being a pilot is something special. I am just another pilot on the grid, that is very independent of whether I am trans or not, that makes no difference on the track," she recognized.

Each one from their perspective, performs their role to make everything go perfectly; it's their job, their passion, their life.

Some of the results of the different categories raced at SpeedFest were the following: in the Rush category, Pablo Guzmán took the honors; in the Vintage Formula Ford, Enrique Contreras was the winner; in the F4 NACAM, Colombian Pedro Juan Moreno won the race, leaving Mexican Christian Conejo Cantú in second place; in the Súper Turismos Light, the victory went to Jorge Casso; in the TC2000 Aldo Vicenti emerged as the winner, while in the Súper Turismos Javier Jiménez triumphed.
