Days go by and the future of James Rodríguez is increasingly uncertain. After his premature departure from Olympiacos in Greece (two and a half months before the end of his contract), the Colombian has been linked to teams in Turkey, England, France, and even Brazil; however, none of them -as of the date- have managed to convince him for the next season.
Although, at this point, the priority of the '10' is to stay in Europe, he will have to look at other options in the transfer market. Especially in South America, the only place where concrete offers have really been discussed with the Colombian.
For example, a few weeks ago, Botafogo made a couple of attempts for him and, although initially a new push was ruled out considering that he had not sent a single favorable signal. However, it is not the only club on the continent that would go for the magic of his left foot and his resounding media impact (he has played for Porto, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Everton, and Al-Rayyan).
Now, in Brazil, it is rumored that Rio de Janeiro could be his new home. According to the portal Vascaino.net, Vasco Da Gama wants him and James would have set a condition: to wait until July, especially because he is still waiting for offers from Europe. That is, if nothing interesting appears by the middle of this year, the Colombian would be willing to negotiate with a Brazilian team.
Thus, if he joins this club, James could compete in the Brasileirao where this club is in 16th place, one of the last positions. As for the international field, the Colombian would have to wait until 2024 in the event of qualifying for the Libertadores or Sudamericana.
'Arrogante' opened its doors
Last Wednesday, James Rodríguez did it again. The '10' of the Colombian National Team launched his restaurant: 'Arrogante'. In Bogota, the success of the new proposal has been like a balm in the midst of his complex sports situation.
The establishment has a wine, cocktails, spirits, and of course food menu. Prices range from 45,000 pesos (10 dollars) and can exceed five million pesos (1100 dollars). Even one of the bottles is valued at 11 million pesos (2430 dollars).
With different musical performances and a typical decoration of the boot-shaped country, James Rodriguez's restaurant received famous people like designer Lina Cantillo and Venezuelan presenter Ursula Kabbara on its first night. Likewise, there were visits from Spanish citizens, who surely already knew the headquarters of 'Arrogante' in Madrid.
