More details continue to emerge about the high-profile separation of Gerard Piqué and Shakira. Paparazzi Jordi Martin, the author of the photos where the football player appears with Clara Chío at his best friend's wedding, linked up with the program "Amor y Fuego" to give details on the latest events regarding the end of this relationship.
The photographer surprised many by revealing that Joan Piqué and Montserrat Bernabeu, parents of the FC Barcelona defender, not only accepted their son's new conquest from day one, but also advised him to separate from the Colombian if he wasn't happy with her.
"Piqué is truly in love and I know this from his inner circle. Piqué's parents have known Clara for several months and they accepted her from day one, they told him that if he wasn't happy with Shakira, he should leave (separate)," the communicator stated.
According to Jordi Martin, the attitude of Piqué's parents wouldn't be surprising since they have shown that they were not at all happy with the relationship their son had with the interpreter of "Te felicito."
As he pointed out, the athlete comes from a typical Catalan family with classist and somewhat racist characteristics, and this would be the reason why Piqué never visited Colombia to get to know the artist's roots.
"Catalan culture is very closed, very arrogant, even a bit racist. (...) Piqué's parents are classist (...) I'm sure they've mocked, I'm sure they've laughed," he added in reference to the separation of the stars.
