After several weeks of silence, Sebastián Villa finally appeared before the justice system to give his version of events after being accused by his ex-partner, Rocío Tamara Doldán, of gender violence and sexual abuse. These crimes carry a prison sentence, so the Boca Juniors player began presenting his defense on Thursday, June 30th.
The prosecutors interrogated the Colombian forward for approximately an hour and a half, as confirmed by Vanesa González, the lead prosecutor in charge of the case at the Fundational Unit for Specialized Instruction on Gender Violence in Esteban Echeverría.
The accusation against Villa became public on May 13th, but this was the first time the football player appeared before the justice system. According to the outlet 'Telam', Villa declared himself "innocent," denying all charges against him and claiming that he had consensual sexual relations with his ex-partner. Similarly, Doldán requested a new psychiatric evaluation for the Boca player.
As a reminder, a few weeks ago, the same prosecutor Vanesa González had requested Villa's arrest. However, Judge Javier Maffucci Moore of the Guarantees Court 2 in Lomas de Zamora rejected the request, demanding a more thorough and detailed investigation of the accusation.
A few days ago, evidence that incriminates the 26-year-old player was also made public. 'TyC Sports' released audio recordings that were added to the case, in which a conversation between Felix, Villa's assistant, and a friend of the accuser can be heard, confirming that there were physical altercations by Sebastián, as well as an attempt to resolve the issue without filing a formal complaint.
On the other hand, between September 19th and 21st, the native of Bello will stand trial for another case of the same nature: that of Daniela Cortés, also his ex-partner, who accused him in 2020 of physical injuries and threats.
