Peru added another 3 gold medals in the 2022 Bolivarian Games.

The 2022 Bolivarian Games, which are taking place in the city of Valledupar, is one of the most important sports events in this part of the continent. The Peruvian delegation has stood out in the three days of competition and already has nine gold medals, and 36 in total.

This Monday, June 27, the national team won three new gold medals in different disciplines. Daryl Yamamoto obtained first place in Judo, Brianda Rivera dominated in Sports Shooting, and Ana Karina Méndez won her second gold medal in Artistic Gymnastics; yesterday Sunday she won the first one.

Hours before in the morning, Peruvian judoka Daryl Yamamoto began his competition in the -100 kg male category against Ecuadorian Junior Angulo, then he faced Chilean Rafael Romo and closed the day against Colombian host Alejandro Escobar, whom he defeated by 100 points to zero. With 300 units, he placed himself at the top of the podium.

In the afternoon, national shooter Brianda Rivera competed in the final series of the 25-meter pistol against Ecuadorian Andrea Pérez, Guatemalan Lucia Del Rosario, and Venezuelan Maribel Pineda. With 14 points and two S-off remarks, she took first place. She still has to compete in the 10m air pistol and mixed air pistol events.

The closing was golden, literally, as Ana Karina Méndez gave Peru another joy by winning her second gold medal in the 2022 Bolivarian Games. The 23-year-old gymnast surpassed all her rivals in the Uneven Bars with 11.667 points; second place went to Colombian Daira Lamadrid with 11.500 points.
