Freddy Rincón passed away at 55
Freddy Rincón suffered a serious car accident in the streets of Cali early on Monday, and his condition was confirmed as critical. However, the legend of Colombian soccer could not resist and his death was announced on Wednesday night.
The unfortunate news was reported by the medical director of Clínica Imbanaco, Laureano Quintero, who said in a statement to the press alongside the former player's children that "despite all the efforts of our work team, Freddy Eusebio Rincón Valencia has passed away".
A van in which the former Colombian national team player was traveling along with three other people crashed into a public bus in Cali, the capital of the Valle del Cauca department, early on Monday morning.
