A complicated moment for one of Colombian soccer legends. Freddy Rincón suffered a serious car accident on the streets of Cali early Monday morning and his condition is critical. His relatives, upon hearing the news, had various reactions, especially his two sons, Freddy Stiven and Sebastián Rincón.

In statements to Antena 2, Hamilton Ricard referred to the communication he had with Freddy Stiven, Rincón's son who could not continue his football career due to an accident.

"The family is very upset. The son is there. He doesn't want to see him, doesn't want to come in, doesn't want to hear any news, says he's not able to talk to any doctor," Ricard confessed.

"Freddy lived with his two sons. With Sebastián and with Freddy Stiven. He's the one who cooks for them. He makes them shrimp and fish because he cooks well. They're used to dad making them breakfast, lunch, dinner. Those kids are very close to their dad," added the former Colombian footballer.

Sebastián Rincón, who is a professional soccer player, is currently in Argentina and used his social networks to express his feelings: "Stay strong, old man. Have faith. I love you, stay strong."

How did the accident happen?

Freddy Rincón was involved in a collision between his truck and a public bus on Fifth Street with 34th Avenue in the city of Cali. The vehicle in which the former Colombian national team player was traveling was hit by a bus. It is reported that five other people were also injured in the crash.

The 55-year-old former player is currently hospitalized in the intensive care unit of Clínica Imbanaco and will undergo surgery in the next few hours for severe head trauma.
