Bad news for Colombian soccer. Freddy Rincón, former midfielder of América de Cali and the Colombian national team, suffered a traffic accident this Monday, April 11, in the morning.
According to the Colombian press, the former footballer is in serious condition after his car collided with a MIO bus in the city of Cali. Marca Claro from Colombia stated that the accident occurred at 5:00 a.m. (local time).
"The former player of América and the Colombian National Team, Freddy Rincón, had a car accident with a MIO bus and his health condition is critical. At this moment he is in intensive care," the mentioned media outlet reported.

It was also detailed that the accident occurred near the Pascual Guerrero stadium, the sports venue where América de Cali plays in the BetPlay League.
"The occupants of the MIO and their driver were taken to a hospital for assessment. Freddy Rincón's condition is concerning," clarified Marca Claro Colombia.
What is Freddy Rincón's condition?
After the accident, Freddy Rincón was transferred to Clínica Imbanaco to undergo surgery after doctors performed tests on him.
Laureano Quintero, head of the health facility where the former player was admitted, spoke with reporters and said that Rincón's situation is delicate.
"The patient's health condition, Fredy Rincón, is delicate, his condition is very critical, he had a severe head injury, he will undergo surgery and then be transferred to the intensive care unit," the doctor declared.
