The Colombian National Team has been relegated from being able to reach the Qatar 2022 World Cup, despite having achieved a victory in the final match of the South American Qualifiers. The team managed by Reinaldo Rueda finished in sixth position in the qualifying table, even losing the chance to play in the playoffs.

But despite the fact that the 'Cafeteros' will not be present in this new edition of the World Cup, there are some players who will be at this important international tournament, and these are the cases of Jesús Ferreira and Jonathan Osorio.
Who are these two athletes and why will they play in the World Cup? Well, it turns out that Ferreira is a Colombian player who, since his youth divisions, has defended the jersey of the United States National Team. He even made his debut in 2020 with the senior team, and since then, coach Berhalter regularly considers him in his squad. So, if he continues to maintain a good level with Dallas FC in the MLS, he would be one of those included in the final list of the North American squad.
Regarding Osorio, his case is a bit different from Jesús'. The midfielder has been one of the indisputable starters in the Canadian National Team for years, and after having qualified for Qatar 2022, his presence would be completely assured in this new edition of the World Cup. In his trajectory with the 'Reds', he has scored a total of 7 goals and provided 7 assists.
It is worth noting that Jesús Ferreira holds Colombian nationality for being born in the city of Santa Marta, Colombia, while Jonathan Osorio was born in Toronto, United States, but having both Colombian parents, he holds dual nationality in his documents.
