The Peruvian judo delegation wins medals in Pan American Junior Games.

Judo player Kiara Arango won the Silver medal, while her teammates Arnold Prado and Noemí Huayhuameza won the Bronze medals in their respective categories.

Peruvian Delegation Shines at the I Pan American Junior Games

The Peruvian delegation traveled to the city of Cali, Colombia to participate in the I Pan American Junior Games Cali-Valle 2021. In these games, our athletes have surprised and brought joy to Peru.

One example is judoka Kiara Arango, who won the silver medal at these Pan American Junior Games. It is worth noting that the judoka competed in the -57 kg category. However, during the competition, she fell in the final round against American Tasha Cancela, who took home the gold in the event held at the Yuri Alvear Combat Colosseum - Arena.

It should be added that Kiara Arango is originally from Ayacucho and reached the final by defeating Costa Rican Melany Esquivel Jara in the quarterfinals and Brazilian Thavane De Oliveira in the semifinals.

In the meantime, judoka Arnold Prado, who competed in the -60 kg category, won the bronze medal for Peru by defeating Antfernee Leandro Pepin Cuevas from the Dominican Republic.

Lastly, judoka Noemí Huayhameza added another bronze medal for the Peruvian delegation by defeating Nicole Cancela from the United States in the -52 kg category.
