Jorge Luis Martínez Morales remains in the elite of speed skating, the Sonoran conquered bronze world in the 100 meters lanes in the final held this Thursday in Ibagué, Colombia.

The Mexican skater stepped onto the podium by placing third in the "queen test" of speed, timing 10.285 seconds; the silver medal corresponded to the Colombian Steven Villegas (10.015), and the gold medal went to the Spanish Ioseba Fernández (9.889), in the final of the Ibagué 2021 World Championship.

Martínez Morales (33 years old; Hermosillo) had previously stepped onto the world podium in the same test in the 2016 and 2017 editions; in addition to adding medals in events such as the World Games, Pan American Games, and Central American Games.

Jorge Martínez participates in 200 meters

Previously, in the final of the 200 meters, held on Saturday, November 6th, Martínez Morales finished in tenth place, timing 17.529 seconds; Colombia made the 1-2 through Steven Villegas and Armando Causil, with times of 17.231 and 17.263 seconds, respectively; the Italian Duccio Marsili (17.319) was third.
