Copa Libertadores returns this week throughout the continent

Sporting Cristal must turn the page on what is happening in the Liga 1 and focus on the Copa Libertadores, as it has been revealed who will referee their match against The Strongest at the Estadio Nacional. The team is not doing well as they are currently last in the international tournament.

The team is not doing well nationally either, as they have not won in their last four games and Tiago Nunes has reportedly resigned as head coach. However, there is no time for regrets in the club as they will face the Bolivian team in Lima this week, in a game they must win if they do not want to say goodbye to the tournament prematurely.

Under these circumstances, the CONMEBOL has appointed Uruguayan referee Leodán González as the main referee for the match between the Peruvian and Bolivian teams. He is an extremely experienced official who has been officiating matches since 2011 and will now enforce the rules in the Copa Libertadores.

It is also important to note that the assistant referees and VAR officials are also of Uruguayan nationality. Therefore, here are the full names and positions of each of the referees who will be present in the Sporting Cristal vs. The Strongest match.
