The World Cup will be played in three countries: Mexico, United States, and Canada in 2026. Unlike previous competitions, this tournament will feature the participation of 48 teams. From Conmebol, the top six teams in the standings will advance. The seventh team will play in the playoffs.

  • CAF (Africa): Nine direct spots + one for the World Playoff.
  • Concacaf (North America, Central America, and Caribbean): Six direct spots (three hosts and three qualified teams from the Eliminations) + 2 for the playoffs.
  • CONMEBOL (South America): Six direct spots + 1 for the World Playoff.
  • OFC (Oceania): One direct spot + 1 for the World Playoff.
  • UEFA (Europe): 16 direct spots.
