The two-time Copa Libertadores champion coach with Palmeiras made it clear that his team created more chances in the tie compared to the Argentine team and that Boca did not make as much collective effort to be in the final of the Copa Libertadores.
"In both matches, both there and here, we had many more opportunities to overcome this tie, but football is cruel. Football is like that, sometimes cruel for us and other times wonderful, like winning the first Libertadores or winning the second Libertadores. And whether you like it or not, I see football in a different way than you do, that's why you are journalists and I am a coach", declared the Palmeiras coach.
To make matters worse, he made it clear that the only player who did everything for Boca Juniors to advance to the final of the Copa Libertadores was Sergio Romero. Given his performances throughout the tie and in the penalty shootout, he is the only reason why the 'xeneize' will seek their seventh continental star.
"Congratulations to Boca, and especially to their goalkeeper, who is the one you should be asking about, as he was the one who made the difference for Palmeiras not to reach the Libertadores final. We had a plan, but unfortunately their goalkeeper prevented our plan from succeeding. Congratulations because he has been the player who decided the tie", he added.
