Brazilian Sao Paulo qualified for the quarterfinals of the Copa Sudamericana on Thursday after winning 2-0 at home against Argentine San Lorenzo, overturning the 1-0 deficit from the first leg.
A header from Argentine Jonathan Calleri just before halftime and another from Luciano in the second half gave the victory to Sao Paulo, who were far superior, against a rival who came to defend the victory achieved in the first match and when they wanted to react after conceding the second goal, it was already too late.
Sao Paulo, the reigning runner-up of the Sudamericana, will face the winner of the Ecuadorian LDU de Quito and the Chilean Ñublense in the quarterfinals, in a tie where they will be able to count on their two new signings, Brazilian international Lucas Moura and Colombian James Rodriguez.
