Zeballos and Valentini scored for the victory of 'Xeneize' in Avellaneda for the 27th match of the Argentine Professional League.

A few hours after announcing the signing of Edinson Cavani, Boca closed this Saturday its participation in the Professional League of Argentine soccer with a 2-0 victory over Independiente, in the last match of the championship that crowned River Plate as champion.

In Avellaneda (southern suburb), Boca achieved a victory that allows them to climb to sixth place in the tournament with 44 points and extended the bad campaign of Independiente, which finished 24th out of 28 teams with only six victories throughout the championship.

Boca didn't impress, they were surpassed in the game for a long time by Independiente, but the Rojo wasted all their chances and the Xeneize team was clinical and precise in their few favorable situations. In the 71st minute, Exequiel Zeballos opened the scoring for Boca after a remarkable play by the Colombian Frank Fabra.

Independiente had an unbeatable opportunity to equalize with a penalty awarded for a handball by Darío Benedetto, but the goalkeeper Sergio 'Chiquito' Romero (74) saved the shot from Uruguayan Martín Cauteruccio.

Boca finished off the match with a header from Nicolás Valentini (76), who won the duel on the far post and finished over the goalkeeper Rey.
