Lucas Beltrán in the 2nd minute, Uruguayan Nicolás De la Cruz (m.18), and Esequiel Barco (m.31) from a penalty kick sealed the victory and triumph of the Buenos Aires club. Mauro Méndez from Uruguay scored in the 67th minute. The Buenos Aires team won its 70th title in 122 years of history and the first one after the departure of coach Marcelo Gallardo, who was replaced by Martín Demichelis. With this triumph, River Plate is now four titles behind Boca Juniors' 74.
