South Korea defeated Nigeria 1-0 in extra time on Sunday in Santiago del Estero (north) and will face Italy in the semi-finals of the Under-20 World Cup in Argentina-2023.
The hero of the Asian team's qualification was Seokhyun Choi, who scored the winning goal with a header five minutes into extra time.
Without ideas and with little offensive volume, both teams roamed the field for 90 minutes without finding the path to goal.
In extra time, Korea struck quickly and knocked out Nigeria. A corner kick led to a goal by S. Choi, who scored a precise header into the corner to make it 1-0 for the current runners-up in the world in the category.
