In the last few days, Andrés Iniesta surprised the whole world by leaving Japanese football, becoming a free agent. However, this Friday, June 2, the World Champion with the Spanish national team is back in the news after being linked with Argentinos Juniors, one of the teams that plays in the Argentine Professional League. Cristian Malaspina, president of 'Bicho', confirmed that Gabriel Milito has already made contact with the Spanish player. They became great friends after sharing a dressing room at FC Barcelona.
According to information provided by the newspaper Olé, the head of the Argentine team assured that Milito called the former Barça player: "Gabi and Andrés are friends. It is true that he called him but there is nothing concrete. It would be beautiful if he comes to play at the 'Semillero del Mundo'."
Both players were teammates at FC Barcelona for four seasons. 'Gabi' joined the Catalan team in 2007 and played with Iniesta until 2011. Together, they won three La Liga titles, two Supercopas de España, and one Copa del Rey. In international competitions, they won two Champions Leagues, one Club World Cup, and one UEFA Super Cup.
