The 63-year-old Argentine coach takes on another great challenge in his career and now he will wear the 'Mengao' uniform, an institution that returns to Brazilian football.
'Mengao' puts on the uniform! Jorge Sampaoli has been officially announced as the new coach of Flamengo from Brazil. This will be the 'Little Man's' third time in the country of the five-time world champions.
Through a message on their official social media, Flamengo made official the arrival of the former coach of the Argentine national team to the rubronegro squad.
"Flamengo announces that it has reached an agreement with coach Jorge Sampaoli to manage the professional football team until December 31, 2024," says the 'Fla' announcement.
Sampaoli arrives at Flamengo after his last stint at Sevilla, where he left the Andalusian team in a difficult situation in LaLiga.
This will be the third time that Sampaoli coaches in Brazil. He has already been in charge of Santos and Atletico Mineiro between 2019 and 2020.
