This afternoon, Mauricio Serna, member of the football council of Club Atlético Boca Juniors, announced that Hugo Ibarra is no longer the coach of the institution, TyC Sports reported.
The season of the 'Xeneize' team has not been favorable; currently they are fourteenth with eleven points. Furthermore, up to now, they have two draws, three defeats, and the same number of victories.
The idea of terminating the coaching contract had been lingering in the minds of the executives. This decision was made after the agonizing 2-1 victory over Olimpo in the Copa Argentina.
“Hugo Ibarra will no longer be the coach of Boca and it is anticipated that he will not remain within the club's structure from now on,” the Argentine media reported.
Likewise, it was known that Mariano Herrón will take charge of the first team internally. According to TyC Sports, the management will try to convince Gerardo Martino.
