"These are the rules of the game. We are great friends, we have created a very strong bond of friendship. What we experience inside these fences is very powerful, but we also understand that we have to make decisions, and we have to put friendship aside," he said.
In this way, it was confirmed that the reserve coaching staff will take charge of the first team for the time being. Meanwhile, the leaders will begin to look for a new coach to face both the Argentine Professional League and the 2023 Copa Libertadores.
"It is a decision that will take us hours, days hopefully. Whoever we have on our list, we have to convince them and take them as quickly as possible. Faced with all this urgency of time and the fact that we are already traveling next week to play the Copa Libertadores, we have to solve it," Serna pointed out.
During his time leading Boca, Hugo Ibarra managed to win the local championship in 2022 and qualify for the Libertadores. However, the team only won 3 out of the 8 matches played this year, receiving harsh criticism from fans.
