Injured Manchester United attacker
The young Manchester United forward suffered an injury in the 0-0 draw against Southampton.
Alejandro Garnacho trusts in being able to come back "stronger than ever" from the injury he suffered against Southampton, which will make him unavailable for his club's upcoming matches, Manchester United, and the Argentinian national team.
The 18-year-old forward was substituted just 17 minutes after coming off the bench, in the second half of the match that United drew 0-0 against Southampton, after a challenge by Kyle Walker-Peters.
Neither Manchester United nor the player have disclosed the details of the injury or the estimated recovery time, but Garnacho stated on Instagram that he will miss the "upcoming matches" of his team and that he will not be able to join Argentina for the games against Panama (March 23) and Curacao (March 26), the first matches of the Scaloni era after being crowned world champions in December in Qatar.
"It's difficult to express in words how I feel right now", wrote the promising football player on Instagram.
"Unfortunately, I won't be able to help my team and my teammates in the upcoming matches, in a very important part of the season for us at Manchester United", he added.
Garnacho, who was born and raised in Madrid, stated that he is also particularly disappointed about not being able to join the Argentinian national team, where his presence was the main surprise in the squad announced earlier this month by the Argentinian Football Association (AFA) and its coach, Lionel Scaloni.
"I'm also disappointed to miss the opportunity to be with my national team teammates, in what would have been a great and proud moment for me and my family", he assured.
"That's part of football and our profession. I am already focused on my recovery. God has taught me to never give up, and I'm sure I will come back stronger than ever", he concluded.
United's coach, Erik Ten Hag, had said after Sunday's match that he did not believe Garnacho's injury was "too bad".
The young footballer made his Premier League debut last April against Chelsea, and in 29 appearances with the first team of United, taking into account all competitions, he has scored four goals. AFP
