The Argentine coach and his technical staff have stopped being part of the 'Vinotinto'. They communicated their decision to the FVF through a letter.

Jose Nestor Pekerman is no longer the coach of the Venezuelan national team. The coach's project for the 2026 World Cup ended abruptly due to a series of non-compliance issues, according to the Argentine press.

Through a letter, the experienced strategist and his coaching staff communicated their decision to the Venezuelan Football Federation (FVF), who will make a public statement in the coming hours.

Pekerman was announced in late November 2021 as the new coach of Venezuela. The coach took over the position with the 'Vinotinto' out of the running for the Qatar 2022 qualifiers, with only 7 points out of 42 possible and four rounds left to play. His goal: to develop a project for the 2026 World Cup, which will be jointly organized by the United States, Mexico, and Canada.

His successful past speaks for itself: the coach led his country, Argentina, in the 2006 World Cup (quarterfinals), and Colombia in Brazil 2014 (quarterfinals) and Russia 2018 (round of 16). In addition, he won the FIFA U-20 World Cup three times as the head coach of the Argentine national team, in 1995, 1997, and 2001.
