The FIFA has appointed the Italian referee Daniele Orsato, 47 years old, to officiate the first semi-final of the 2022 Qatar World Cup, on Tuesday, December 13th, between Argentina and Croatia.
Born on November 23, 1975, in Vicenza, Orsato has already refereed the opening match in Qatar 2022, between the host country and Ecuador (0-2); as well as the Argentina-Mexico match in the group stage (2-0).
Orsato will be assisted by his compatriots Ciro Carbone and Alessandro Giallatini. The fourth official will be the Emirati Mohammed Abdulla Mohammed.

Leading the video assistant referee (VAR) will be another Italian, Massimiliano Irrati, who will have his compatriot Paolo Valeri as the assistant referee (AVAR).
The American Kathryn Nesbitt will control the offside VAR. The Venezuelan Juan Soto will support the VAR.
