How much was the Argentina vs Mexico World Cup match [VIDEO] final score?

Jueves 24 de Noviembre del 2022

Messi and company managed to secure three golden points in Matchday 2 of Group C.

Lionel Messi gave life to Argentina when they needed it the most and led his team to a 2-0 victory over Mexico, which is now in a critical situation in Group C of the 2022 World Cup.

The Paris Saint-Germain star was the architect of the Albiceleste's triumph, first scoring the 1-0 with a shot from outside the box in the 64th minute, and then providing the assist for Enzo Fernández to seal the 2-0 with a cross-shot in the 87th minute.

Argentina revive after their debut defeat against Saudi Arabia and now has 3 points in the standings, placing them second, only surpassed by Poland, who is leading with 4 points. Saudi Arabia is third with 3 points - and a worse goal difference than the Argentinians - and Mexico is bottom of the group with just one point.

In the third and final matchday, Argentina still depends on themselves: if they win, they will achieve the goal of reaching the round of 16 and most likely as group leaders.

A draw would make their qualification depend on the result of Mexico vs. Saudi Arabia, and a defeat against Poland would eliminate Argentina.

Mexico needs to win their last match, but even that doesn't guarantee their advancement and will depend on goal difference in tiebreakers, so they will have to keep an eye on what happens between Poland and Argentina as well.

Argentina vs. Mexico, two of the great countries of Latin American football, have a long history of clashes and on Saturday, in the second matchday of Group C in Qatar 2022, they will cross paths for the fourth time in a World Cup.

Out of the three previous matches, two were in recent times (round of 16 in both 2006 and 2010) and both with Lionel Messi representing Argentina on the field, so the Paris Saint-Germain star will cross paths with El Tri in the greatest football tournament for the third time in the World Cup. In the previous two encounters, he couldn't score against them.
